Toasty & Toccoa Lodge in Suches, GA
The last couple months have been a whirlwind for us with everything going on right now. We needed a little time to relax and get away from the stresses of work, family health battles and busy schedules. We found that much needed special time together last week with a visit to Toasty & Toccoa Lodge in the North Georgia Mountains. We had the best time spending time together exploring Blue Ridge and Dahlonega, taking walks to the river, taking in the beauty of the leaves changing colors, watching movies and playing games!
When you go to the mountains you really get to experience the beauty God creates in nature from the change in the colors of the leaves to the wildlife and crisp coolness to the air. You can really feel the fullness of that mountain beauty in Suches. We loved waking up and enjoying the the views from the back porch, a bible study and cup of coffee in the morning before the babies woke up. Yep, here I am still calling my almost 9 year old a baby. Y'all... where the does time go? It goes so stinkin' fast. Being able to slow down and enjoy each other in the mornings watching the sun come up and the leaves fall was so special. The things that seem the simplest in life are just so beautiful, and I loved getting to slow down and notice all of those things on our trip.
The lodge had so much room and everything we could have needed for our family. When we arrived there was the yummiest charcuterie board from Cabin Concierge. Cabin Concierge delivers amazing services for your trip to the mountains including charcuterie boards and packages for anniversaries and special occasions as well as experiences like in room massages. They can have everything set up for you upon your arrival to make your stay extra special.
There was so much room in the upstairs for lots of different ways to sleep all your family or friends. The girls loved the bunk beds and the fact it was shaped like a little cabin was too cute! It was so nice that they had a game area set up upstairs with foosball as well as an extra tv and tons of games in the closet. The girls favorite game from game night was the big Jenga game from the back porch. The large yard games like that are my girls favorites and I think they're so fun too! I'll let y'all take your best guess on which pictures Lil Bug captured this week! I think she may have a camera on her Christmas wish list this year.
Before game night we went to Dahlonega for the day and had a great day shopping around in the stores and had dinner at Grapesvine's Italian Restaurant. There's a store with something for everyone from clothing and souvenirs to fudge and toy shops. Off the square in Dahlonega they have a great playground where we spent hours playing and making lots of sweet memories.
The next day we had a laid back day going to Blue Ridge then we came home to watch movies and relax in the hot tub. The girls picked Home Alone 1 & 2 for movie night which was a perfect choice! They're already getting pumped for Christmas. My kinda girls! They put together their Operation Christmas Child boxes for church and then they got to get in the hot tub. They loved the lights in the hot tub and felt so big getting to stay up later than their normal bedtime. The simple joys are the best!
Time away is so needed and the accommodations at Toasty & Toccoa are simply amazing. The owners really go the extra mile by leaving great quality toiletries like shampoo, conditioner & body wash in every bathroom along with plenty of extra towels and blankets. Having all the games for game nights and streaming services like Netflix for movie nights, lots of snacks and all the items needed to cook meals at the lodge was just perfect. Every room is beautiful, spacious, so comfortable and so well taken care of. We really felt at home and we will definitely return for another getaway!
